Anaïssia Franca is a Senior Consultant with WSP’s Transportation Advisory Services. She is specialized in techno-economic analysis of alternative propulsion systems for public transport and heavy-duty vehicles and has worked on numerous fleet electrification projects across North America. While completing her master’s thesis, she developed one of the most precise electricity consumption modelling tools in the market which calculates energy consumption, operating costs and emissions reductions related to the adoption of zero- emission electric buses. Many transit agencies across Canada, including Translink in Vancouver and the TTC in Toronto, have utilized this tool to support their transition to a zero-emission fleet and their pilot projects, such as the Pan Canadian Electric Bus Demonstration and Integration Project. As a result, Anaïssia has a broad knowledge of new trends in the electric vehicles sector across Canada in terms of the technology, operations and planning.
Since joining WSP, Anaïssia has worked on key and complex projects involving electrification roadmap planning and infrastructure upgrades required to electrify small to large fleets. Based on her modelling expertise, she also works on the continuous improvement of BOLT, WSP’s proprietary tool that calculates energy requirements and peak demands for fleets with different charging strategies.
